Luna Omakase - a restaurant with a difference

The Luna Omakase restaurant is situated within the Los Mochis restaurant in the City of London. It is so different to anything I have experienced before. My husband enters many competitions and this was one of his best wins (courtesy of Hot Dinners). We were treated so well, nothing was too much - from pre-dinner drinks to fresh mint tea to finish. We had 12 dishes, mostly fish but also some caviar and Wagyu beef all paired with four types of sake. There were just ten diners in a private room.

New Gallery - Amsterdam to Budapest (2024)

The river cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest covered 1600km and 68 locks. We travelled over the continental divide on a canal and then the river changed its flow direction from the North Sea to the Black Sea. The idea of connecting these two bodies of water was considered many centuries ago and only came to reality in 1992.

It's been a long time since I won the Projected Digital Image of the Year competition but 2022 was the year to change that. The white-capped albatross was taken off the southern island of New Zealand on a lovely clear day a few years ago. The birds came close to the boat for the chum they got. Taken on a 70-200mm lens at the 70mm end.

This new book contains photo essays of two railway journeys - the Andean Explorer, from Puno to Cusco in Peru and the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Calgary in Canada.
Originally I'd made the photos from these two journeys into audio-visual presentations. During the Covid-19 lock-down I took the opportunity to put them into book form.

The Natural History competition was judged remotely this year due to the Coronavirus meaning the club has stopped meeting. I was not the winner this year but of the other six awarded images (commended and highly commended), three of them were mine. Each member could enter a maximum of three images so yes I was pretty pleased.

Highly commended - Red kite diving

Commended - Greater Indian fruit bat and Incoming White-capped albatross

This was a very close competition with the final three places being just three points apart and just one point separated second and first place. Each entrant put in three prints and the aggregate scores determined the winner
These are my three images. Two are those I entered into the Landscape competition and the third is an Indian chital deer.
