Viewfinder, our news magazine.
We have a newsletter which contains articles from members, showcases images that have done well for members and often contains Photoshop techniques. There will also be a few members who write on how they take photos for their given speciality e.g. infra-red landscapes, e.g. using a 10 stop filter. Copies of recent Viewfinders can be found on the Harlow website, click on the club link above.
HPS Digital Group.
Following the success of last years' Digital Group I will again be organising monthly meetings which help new members get the most out of their camera and their photography. I intend to help the group with whatever is needed/asked for. So far this year I've covered the following:
Month 01 - The camera.
What the dials and buttons mean; aperture and shutter time; depth of field preview; white balance.
Month 02 - The camera.
Moving the focus points to suit your taking image; explaining the histogram; exposing to the right of the histogram.
Month 03 - Photoshop CS5 + Elements 9, looking at the RAW converter.
Future meetings will discuss:
Photoshop tools, in particular the selection tools.
Photoshop layers and layer masks.
Creating and printing using ICC profiles.
